What a US mailing address actually is

A business that receives mail on behalf of others is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency under US Postal Service rules. Your post is delivered there, scanned and forwarded as you instruct.

A non-resident founder needs one because things get posted: the IRS sends EIN letters, banks send cards and states send reminders.

It is not your registered agent address, and it is not proof that you live or work in the US.
